Rapper Post Malone's Crocs collaboration sells out instantly

When Crocs tapped rapper Post Malone for a one-off design collab, it seems it was a match made in ugly-shoe-chic heaven – the Post Malone x Crocs Dimitri Clog, which was released on November 1, sold out within minutes.

The shoe, modeled after the Crocs classic clog and made from the brand's foamy Croslite material, features six custom-designed Jibbitz, charms that can be stuck in croc holes. The custom Post Malone Jibbitz include re-creations of the rapper's notorious “Stay Away” face tattoo and Posty Co logo.

The shoe retailed at $59.99, and was available exclusively on the Crocs e-commerce website.

“If you like something, go get it,” said Post Malone in a press release where he explained his love of Crocs, a shoe he has often been spotted wearing on many occasions prior to the collaboration. “I wear Crocs everywhere from the bar to the stage and I felt it was the perfect collaboration to get together with Crocs and give the fans what they’ve been asking for.”

The instant success of the clog is yet another example of the continued popularity of the "ugly shoe" trend, which has seen brands such as Nike, Fila and Calvin Klein release so-called "dad" sneakers, while Birkenstock has experienced something of a fashion-forward renaissance.

The collaboration follows a series of high-profile creative partnerships at Crocs, which teamed up with Parisian luxury brand Balenciaga at the end of last year and has since released a collection designed with Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore
