Ebates, the pioneer and leader in online cash back shopping, released an online retail report, showing that cash back shopping continues to grow from strength to strength. Sales through Ebates.com grew 50% in July 2010 versus the same period last year. Retail categories showing double digit growth in annual sales included Apparel, Accessories & Footwear (+63%), Appliances & Home Improvement (+73%), Department Stores (+43%), Health & Beauty (+29%), and Toys & Video Games (+69%).

In addition to demonstrating higher sales at individual stores and across retail categories, the report also shows that average spending per buyer is holding steady at approximately $110 per order.

"Even in this tough economic climate, sales through Ebates.com have continued to grow impressively because savvy shoppers all across the country find that the cash back, coupons and discounts we offer help their budgets stretch farther," said Kevin H. Johnson, CEO of Ebates. "Over the past year, we have added 2,000,000 new shoppers to our cash back shopping service, and over 1,200 retailers have responded by increasing the number of exclusive deals and promotions they offer our members."

Ebates expects its members to spend over half a billion dollars via Ebates.com in 2010, and members have earned more than $70,000,000 in cash back.
